Honoring Unci Maka: Our Inaugural Earth Day Wacipi

On April 22, 2025—Earth Day—Red Cloud Renewable was honored to host our first-ever Earth Day Wacipi. From the opening drumbeat to the final round dance, it was a day filled with community, culture, and climate awareness.

Under a bright spring sky, we came together to celebrate Unci Maka, Grandmother Earth, through prayer, song, dance, learning, and shared meals.

The Earth Day Wacipi was more than a powwow—it was a reminder of the deep connections between cultural tradition and environmental stewardship. Community members gathered not only to honor the land and each other, but also to learn about the importance of renewable energy, solar power, and weatherization in building a sustainable future.

The turnout was incredible, and the circle was alive with the energy of dancers, drummers, and families who came to celebrate. Vendors brought warmth and generosity, sharing their gifts with the community, while conversations about clean energy and sustainability carried on throughout the day.

Gratitude to Our 2025 Sponsors

This event would not have been possible without the generosity of our sponsors. We extend our heartfelt thanks to:

Their support helped make this day of celebration and education possible, blending tradition with innovation as we honored both our ancestors and future generations.

Looking Ahead

Together, we created something truly special—an event that honored the land, celebrated resilience, and sparked hope for the future. The Earth Day Wacipi is now part of Red Cloud Renewable’s story, and we look forward to making it an annual tradition that continues to grow in spirit and impact.
